Natural and Healthy Dog Treat Baking Mixes for Christmas!!

Welcome!Gluten free dog treats

"What are You Bake 'em's™?"

They're simple to make, wholesome treat mixes that you bake for your Pampered Pooch in your own kitchen.  Watch that tail go thump, thump as you're mixing and baking; this simple act is a bonding experience you'll both enjoy.
The inspiration for You Bake 'em!™ treats is BC, (above)  a Collie mix rescued in Southern Oregon by owner Andrea Jansen.  Desiring a healthy, happy dog, and a new hobby, she began baking BC's training treats for fun, experimenting with flavors and sharing samples with neighborhood dogs.

Schnauzer Bud had allergies, so his Mom and Dad passed on the offerings.
Not wanting anyone left out, Andrea focused on ingredients conducive to most, if not all pets.  After extensive developing,  testing and tweaking, she narrowed it down to two Gluten-Free recipes: Biscuit Treats, golden brown crisps with a hint of cinnamon, and Pretzel Snacks, bite-sized nuggets topped with sesame seeds.  Decadent sounding but healthy Whole Wheat Biscotti, prepared with peanut butter,  has a nice woof of cinnamon.  And finally the latest variety, Vegan Treats...Zero eggs, Zero dairy, Zero meat, but chock full of flavor with oatmeal, applesauce and peanut butter.    Yum.
"Why should I bother baking instead of buying ready-made?  They're cheap enough."
Because, just like people food, there's too much junk added to pet food and treats these days, and it's only natural that dogs would suffer from health issues.  Sure, you can buy a box of whole food treats that are already on store shelves, touting their healthy aspects, cheap.  But that's no guarantee; there are numerous instances of product recalls, which is why so many people are beginning to make their own treats, and food, at home.
We use local Oregon suppliers whenever possible, and carefully scrutinize all ingredients for hidden fillers.  Check our ingredients listed on the product pages, then compare with what's in your cupboard and decide for yourself.  But besides all that, it's FUN!
"If I can bake 'em, anyone can."  That was the goal, and we're always looking to make the experience more pleasant.  In that spirit, Andrea has just created printable PDF's of baking instructions, complete with photos.  They're not perfect-looking, but that's reality.  And we guarantee your dog won't care.  As Thoreau said, "Excellence does not require perfection."
Here's what was in mind during R&D:
  • Healthy, natural ingredients, locally sourced
  • Dog's allergies, and what ingredients to avoid
  • Tasty without sugars
  • Baker does not need exotic ingredients; packets of sesame seeds, egg replacement and/or extra gluten free  flour are included
  • Simple baking; warm-fuzzies
We are proud to announce our recent association with Dogs for the Deaf™,   helping people and dogs throughout the United States and Canada.  "Each purchase helps to support our mission of rescuing dogs and professionally training them to enhance lives, maintaining a lifelong commitment to all dogs we rescue and all people we serve."
Ask any veterinarian or dog groomer.  With more dogs developing allergies, gluten-free is fast becoming the way to go, and what can be better than feeding your pet a home made treat in which you have confidence?
You Bake 'em's™  allows you to spoil your pooch with a good conscience, plus you'll be helping Dogs for theDeaf™.  Please take some time to visit their website.
